Don’t Share Your Leads Get Them Through Better Deals

20

January

When it comes to the sales world, a lot of times folks seem to be content with the concept of having the same sorts of prospects as everyone else in their industry, but this is not so much a good idea. It is not building for the future because that means that you are trying to function in an unbalanced ecosystem that is not going to work out well. You may have noticed that these massively over saturated markets tend to experience a high rate of die off whereas the more specialized do not undergo such a drastic rate of failure. What you want to do is position yourself in such a way that you can get solid and steady results because your market is not saturated in terms of sellers to customers ratio. This is super important because it helps to determine your longevity and also the amount of time and effort that you are going to need to lay out on the table long before you achieve your peak results that can help you have a fulfilling career that lasts as long as you’d like. The whole key to doing this the right way is making sure that you actually have access to the right kind of leads that are going to give you a serious edge over your competition, not put you toe to toe with them. Get yourself hard copy leads and you are going to see that sales come your way naturally because you aren’t brow beating the customer the way you have to in competitive niches where sales folks come along constantly.

Put Those Film Making Skills to Use in the Courtroom

26

September

The same complaint is often heard from those who chose to go into film making as a career: ‘I’m broke!’ It isn’t that it in inherently a bad choice of profession, and can be quite lucrative and satisfying. But the time in between those films is a big problem financially, and even if you are doing it all for the art, you still have to eat. But you can put those skills to use and make some decent money becoming a legal videographer.

This is someone who sits in on court cases and videotapes them, as a secondary source of records to go along with the text documents that go along with a case. While it takes a little training, usually your skills as a film maker will be most of what is needed. You just have to make sure to capture the right angles, and to get a clear visual and audio shot for the sake of recording the proceedings. Think of yourself as a court stenographer, only with a camera as your tool.

This is fantastic freelance work for anyone who has given up living comfortably for living with their art. Each ‘gig’ is paid quite well, as wages are handled by the city. Have you ever had a city job before? The amount per hour is usually much higher than the average job’s pay range. It might also come with benefits, if you choose to go into a contract for more consistent work. It is a great chance for anyone handy with a camera.

Finding Telemarketing Leads

04

August

It isn’t easy, finding leads for making phone sales. Sure, plenty of companies offer you phone lists to choose from, but these are almost always hit and miss, bought from a huge pile of unrelated marketing information that has been bought from a general original copy. Not only that, but you will usually find that the same lists have been handed out to other companies and employees as well. You can bet you won’t get anywhere using these numbers.

What you need is something specific, something that offers you pre-filtered numbers, recently bought, and completely original. You can get lottery leads and other phone lists online for a small fee, and these numbers will pay in dividends.

These lists are great investments, and will help you along the way, so that you can find better leads, make better calls, and make better use of your time. More time means more phone calls can be placed, and since the targets are already filtered for relevance, more chances of commissions.

In order to find these leads, you have to have a search engine. That’s it! Just go to Google or any other search engine of your choice, put in the most relevant search terms for what you are looking for (for example, magazine leads), and watch the results pop up.

Some things to look out for to make sure you are getting the best leads types are that they are marketing data based, and hardcopy, not printed from another source.

Budgeting Software Review: YNAB

28

July

YNAB (You Need A Budget) Pro is a budgeting software tool that does more than track the finances of the user; it imposes a budgeting philosophy.  Everyone can use a solid budgeting plan, especially with credit card debt on the rise and an unpredictable job market to contend with.  Whether or not YNAB Pro is that budgeting plan is debatable.

While consumers who already have a working budget and are successfully saving money, and decreasing their debts may still find a finance software package useful, YNAB Pro isn’t directed toward this market.  If, on the other hand, a household is counting the days until pay day to make bill payments or buy groceries, YNAB Pro may be appropriate.

The software serves up a financial philosophy based on four principles.  The first is to get at least one month ahead on bills, and end the paycheck-to-paycheck stress. The second is to assign a “job” to every dollar earned.  Rather than deducting necessary payments and then leaving the remainder to “miscellaneous” spending such as entertainment, YNAB Pro suggests planning all expenditures ahead of time. Third, have an emergency account.  Lastly, learn flexibility that will help in recovering from overspending or budgeting errors.
